Overview
This Data Retention Policy explains how long Osaka Nightlife Network retains personal data and when it is deleted or anonymized. We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. This policy complies with applicable data protection laws.
Retention Periods
Account data is retained for the duration of your active account plus a period of 30 days after account deletion to allow for recovery. Business and venue listings are retained while the business membership is active and for 90 days after expiration. Messages and conversations are retained for 2 years after the last activity. Activity feed data is retained for 1 year.
Account Data
Your profile information, authentication data, and account preferences are retained while your account is active. When you request account deletion, we initiate a deletion process that removes or anonymizes your personal data within 30 days. Certain data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
User-Generated Content
Content you post, including group posts, event listings, and job postings, is retained while your account is active. When you delete content, it is removed from the Platform within a reasonable timeframe. Some content may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days before permanent deletion. Content reported for policy violations may be retained for evidence.
Transaction Records
Records of membership dues, event ticket purchases, and other transactions are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations. These records include transaction amounts, dates, and payment method identifiers (but not full card numbers). Business tax documents are retained for the period required by Japanese tax law.
Deletion and Anonymization
When data is no longer needed, we either permanently delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you. Anonymized data may be retained for statistical and research purposes. You can request deletion of your data at any time through Account Settings. Some data may be retained if required by law or for legitimate legal or security purposes.
Changes to This Data Retention Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this document at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised version on the Platform. We will update the 'Last Updated' date indicated above. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated document.
