How NaviTOOFN collects, uses, and protects your information, including venue-based location features.

Last Updated: 2026-08-16

Introduction

NaviTOOFN ('we', 'us', or 'our') operates a venue-discovery and venue-activity platform for Osaka, Japan. NaviTOOFN helps people discover participating venues, see how active those venues are, find events, and connect with the local hospitality community. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the NaviTOOFN website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the 'Platform'). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) of Japan and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (such as your name, email, profile details, and the content you post), information generated when you interact with participating venues, and technical information collected automatically when you use the Platform (such as device type, browser, IP address, and usage logs). When you create or manage a venue, event, or business profile, we collect the related business details you submit. You can use many discovery features without creating an account; an account is required only for actions such as posting content, checking in, or managing a venue. For clarity under App Store privacy disclosures, the information in this policy falls into four categories: (A) information NaviTOOFN actually receives or stores, such as account details, user content, and transaction records; (B) information processed directly by third-party service providers, such as payment-card data handled by a payment processor, which NaviTOOFN does not receive; (C) information used only temporarily to provide a requested function, such as venue proximity used to offer a check-in prompt; and (D) information that is aggregated or de-identified, such as venue activity levels. We do not claim to collect a category of information merely because the platform could eventually support it.

Venue Activity Information

NaviTOOFN uses location information only in connection with participating venues and venue-related functionality. When you choose to enable location services and interact with a participating venue, we may process venue activity information to determine whether you are interacting with or visiting a participating venue, to measure activity at participating venues, to calculate busy and less-busy periods, to identify activity patterns by day and time, to improve venue recommendations, to provide venue and social-environment recommendations, and to generate aggregated venue activity information. This venue activity information is venue-based, not continuous GPS tracking throughout Osaka. NaviTOOFN is not intended to create a continuous history of your movements throughout Osaka.

Social Preferences

NaviTOOFN may allow you to provide preferences about the type of social environment you prefer, including preferences relevant to quieter, more social, crowded, less crowded, introvert-friendly, or extrovert-friendly environments. These preferences are not medical or psychological information. We may use these preferences to personalize venue recommendations, to identify suitable social environments, to improve recommendations based on venue activity patterns, and to help you discover venues that match your stated preferences. You can edit or remove these preferences at any time in your settings.

User Content

We collect content you choose to post, including profile information, photos, reviews, event and venue listings, group posts, and messages you send to other members. You remain responsible for the content you post. We process this content to display it on the Platform and provide the features it relates to.

Health and Fitness Information

NaviTOOFN does not collect health, fitness, or medical information.

Financial and Purchase Information

NaviTOOFN is intended to support payments for applicable real-world venue-related goods and services. Payment providers that may be used include Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, Touch Pay, and other payment providers actually integrated into the Platform; only a provider that is actually integrated and enabled is active. Where payment credentials are processed directly by a third-party payment processor, that processor may receive the payment information necessary to authorize and process the transaction. NaviTOOFN does not receive or store raw credit-card numbers, bank-account numbers, CVV codes, or other payment credentials unless a provider is configured to pass them to us, which is not our default. We may retain transaction-related information such as a customer or account identifier, purchase or booking information, the venue associated with the transaction, transaction date and time, amount, currency, payment status, refund status, invoice information, receipt information, and transaction or support records. We use this information to process and confirm transactions, provide venue-related services, generate invoices and receipts, send receipts and transaction confirmations automatically, process refunds, provide customer support, maintain accounting and business records, detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Device, Usage, and Diagnostic Information

We automatically collect limited technical information when you use the Platform, such as device type, operating system, browser, IP address, access times, and features you use. We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Platform and to diagnose problems.

Search and Browsing Information

We retain information about the searches and listings you view within the Platform so we can show relevant results and improve discovery. This is limited to activity within the Platform and is not combined with your activity on other apps or websites to build a cross-app profile.

Contacts

NaviTOOFN does not upload or access your device contacts or address book.

Environment, Camera, Audio, and Body Data

NaviTOOFN does not collect environmental, audio, body-sensor, or biometric data. You may choose to upload photos you have taken to your profile, a venue, or an event; those photos are treated as User Content, and we do not access your camera or microphone except when you actively choose to upload media.

Sensitive Information

We do not ask for or intentionally collect sensitive data such as race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, political opinions, or health information. Please do not include sensitive information in public content you post.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide and maintain the Platform; create and manage your account; display venues, events, and activity information; provide venue and social-environment recommendations; send event reminders and notifications you have agreed to receive; process payments; enable communication between members; and ensure the safety, security, and integrity of the Platform. We may automatically generate and send invoices, receipts, payment confirmations, booking confirmations, and refund confirmations to the email address or other contact method you provide for a transaction. We may also use information to comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud and abuse.

Aggregated and De-Identified Information

Where technically possible, we aggregate, de-identify, minimize, or otherwise process venue activity information so that venue-level statistics do not unnecessarily reveal an individual's movements. For example, venue activity is shown as approximate levels (such as quiet, moderate, or busy) rather than counts or identities of specific people. Aggregated or de-identified information is not personal information and may be used to analyze and improve the Platform.

Location Privacy and Venue-Based Tracking

NaviTOOFN uses location information only for venue-based functionality at participating venues. Specifically, location is used for: determining whether a user is interacting with or visiting a participating venue; measuring activity at participating venues; calculating busy and less-busy periods; identifying activity patterns by day and time; improving venue recommendations; providing venue and social-environment recommendations; and generating aggregated venue activity information. NaviTOOFN is not intended to maintain a continuous record of a user's home location, a user's workplace, places outside participating venues, where the user travels throughout Osaka, or the user's general movement history. Location features are optional and can be turned off at any time in your settings or in your device permissions. Where technically possible, venue activity information is aggregated, de-identified, minimized, or otherwise processed so that venue-level statistics do not unnecessarily reveal an individual's movements. You can learn more or adjust settings on our Privacy Choices page at https://v-trips.net/legal/privacy-choices.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information or location information. We may share information with other members as needed for the features you use (for example, your public profile or content you post), with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as hosting, payments, and email delivery) under appropriate obligations, with authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Venue activity information is shared only in aggregated or de-identified form.

Advertising and Tracking

NaviTOOFN's venue-based location functionality supports venue discovery, venue activity analysis, and recommendations, and is not described as 'tracking' unless it meets the applicable definition of tracking. NaviTOOFN does not use third-party advertising networks, does not engage in cross-app or cross-company behavioral advertising, and does not allow third parties to track you across other apps or websites through the Platform. We do not use personal information for cross-app or cross-company advertising tracking, and we do not sell personal information or location information for advertising or any other purpose.

Third-Party Services and SDKs

We use a limited set of third-party services to operate the Platform, including: identity and sign-in providers (for example, when you choose to sign in with Google); payment providers that may be used to process payments (such as Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Touch Pay, where actually integrated and enabled); and mapping services to display venue locations. Third-party payment processors may independently process payment information according to their own privacy policies and terms. These providers process information subject to their own privacy policies. We share only the information necessary to provide the relevant feature.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account data is retained while your account is active and is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after deletion. Aggregated and de-identified venue activity information may be retained longer. For details, see our Data Retention Policy.

Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time. To do so, email brentvsceo@v-trips.net or visit our Privacy Choices page at https://v-trips.net/legal/privacy-choices. We will process verified requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law. Certain data may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security purposes.

Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage many choices in your settings, including location services and recommendations. For any privacy request, including data access, correction, or deletion, contact us at brentvsceo@v-trips.net or through our Privacy Choices page at https://v-trips.net/legal/privacy-choices.

Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us at brentvsceo@v-trips.net so we can delete it.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to operate the Platform, and limited analytics to understand usage. We do not use cookies to track you across third-party websites for advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; note that disabling essential cookies may affect functionality.

Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and monitoring. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and respond to incidents in accordance with applicable law.

International Data Processing

NaviTOOFN is focused on Osaka, Japan. Your information may be processed on servers located in Japan or elsewhere. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Japan — APPI

NaviTOOFN handles personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) of Japan. Where required, we obtain consent for the handling of personal information, use it within the purposes described in this policy, and take reasonable steps to protect it. If you believe your rights under APPI have been violated, you may contact the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) of Japan. For any APPI-related request, contact us at brentvsceo@v-trips.net.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the 'Last Updated' date and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
